What drives innovation?

It's the intrinsic urge of human beings to delegate increasing roles to machines to get the job done better at less cost, while creating more comfort. Upon succeeding with role delegation to machines, human beings do not stop. They keep developing improved machines so that jobs could be done far better at far less cost than ever before.
This intrinsic urge is the driver of innovation. For addressing the necessity of building better machines for increasing role delegation, human race is in relentless race of scientific discovery and turning science into technology invention--to fuel the innovation.
Although, a few animals like Capuchin monkeys have shown the tendency of role delegation to machines, like using stone tool to crack nuts. But none of them has demonstrated the capability of continued role delegation to increasingly better machines.
